What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device. They can help a site work, remember your choices or, on some sites, track what you do. Similar technologies include browser storage and small scripts that run security checks.
How we use cookies
We keep cookies to a minimum. This website:
- does not use analytics, advertising or social media tracking cookies
- does not track you across other websites
- does not save information in your browser's storage
- loads its fonts from our own website, so your browser does not contact Google Fonts
Without your action, the only cookies that may be set are strictly necessary ones that keep the website secure. Under UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations), strictly necessary cookies do not need your consent, which is why we do not show a cookie banner. Google Maps cookies are only set if you choose to show the map.
Cookies we use
These are the cookies that may be set when you use this website. They are all strictly necessary.

Other technologies on this website
- Spam protection: our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that they are sent by a person rather than an automated program. It runs a short security check in your browser and is not used for advertising or tracking.
- Google Maps: our areas pages include a Google Map. It does not load until you select "Show Google Map". Once you do, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, which are covered by Google's cookie information (opens in a new tab). Opening the map in Google Maps takes you to Google's own website.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings. Each browser does this slightly differently, so check the help section of the browser you use. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of this website, such as our forms, from working properly.
The Information Commissioner's Office has clear guidance on cookies and how to control them (opens in a new tab).
Changes to this policy
If we ever add cookies that are not strictly necessary, such as analytics, we will ask for your consent before setting them and update this policy. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
