Who we are
Dawn Healthcare provides care and support at home for adults in Leicester. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it is used.
This policy explains what information we collect through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and the rights you have.
Information we collect
We only collect the information you choose to give us through our forms:
- Callback requests: your name, telephone number, best time to call and, if you give it, your email address.
- Care enquiries and quote requests: your name, telephone number, email address (optional), the postcode where care is needed, who the care is for, the type of support and timing you are interested in, how care may be funded, your preferred contact method and any brief message you add.
- Job applications: your name, email address, telephone number, the role you are interested in, your general location, a summary of your experience, your availability and, if you choose to upload one, your CV.
- Professional referrals: the referrer's name, organisation, job title, professional email and telephone number, service area and broad support category. We ask referrers not to include details that identify the person being referred.
Our forms ask you not to include medical records, NHS numbers or detailed health information. If we need health information to plan care, we will explain how to share it securely after we first speak. We do not ask for passport, bank, National Insurance or DBS details through this website.
Each form records which page it was sent from, and whether you ticked the optional box to hear from us.
How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry, call you back or arrange a care assessment.
- To prepare a care plan and quote if you decide to go ahead.
- To consider job applications and contact you about the recruitment process.
- To respond to professional referrals.
- To send you occasional news and updates, only if you have ticked the box to say you would like them.
- To keep our website secure and protect our forms from spam and misuse.
Our lawful basis
Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) we rely on the following lawful bases:
- Steps before entering a contract: when you ask us about care for yourself or apply for a job, we use your details to respond and to take the steps you have asked for.
- Legitimate interests: when someone contacts us on behalf of another person, or a professional makes a referral, we have a legitimate interest in responding and arranging appropriate care. We also rely on legitimate interests to keep our website secure.
- Consent: we only send news and updates if you have opted in. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
Information about health is special category data. Where we need it to assess or provide care, we rely on the condition for the provision of health or social care, and we handle it under a professional duty of confidentiality.
How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for.
If you become a client or join our team, your information will be kept in line with our care records and employment records policies, which we will explain to you at that time.
Keeping your information safe
Our forms are sent over an encrypted connection. Submissions are stored in a secure database that can only be accessed by authorised staff, and email alerts never contain the details of your enquiry. Uploaded CVs are renamed and stored privately.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- ask us to delete your information
- ask us to limit how we use your information
- object to us using your information where we rely on legitimate interests
- ask us to transfer your information to another organisation
- withdraw your consent to news and updates at any time
Some of these rights depend on the circumstances. We will respond to your request within one month and there is normally no charge.
